In these photographs I focused on the way that the shapes are arranged in the picture plane. In the first picture the shape cuts right through the picture plane. In the second picture the shape is placed on the picture plane. In both pictures the reflections play a role, creating more shapes within. The colors of the shapes are also mimicked throughout the background, helping the composition. In both pictures, the depth of field helps with the juxtaposition of the shape in the foreground, which are detailed, and those created in the background, which are blurry.

You shoot with intention. This is a fantastic attribute. Your compositions fill the whole frame and often incorporate interesting perspective line. This lends itself well to abstraction; often abstract, photographic images are more engaging when there is an illusion of depth. In your bottom photo, for example, the object, which obviously sticks out from the background, imples form and depth without losing countour and shape. The play between background and foreground creates a wonderful tension. The most striking element of the top photo is its color. Here you capture the gentle simplicity to form. Sometimes you might want to consider how the edges of the frame complicate composition. Perhaps adding more elements , such as dramatic light or additional shape, might make these studies more complex. However, these photos showcase your strong sense of composition and your understanding of how to use the camera to transform the material world, not just record it.
